Reflection 1: My Life Backpack

In my life backpack I carry a plethora of various items. I carry chap-stick because I prefer it to lip gloss and no one likes dry cracked lips. I carry my headphones for when I want to tune out the world and focus or relax to some music. Band aids float randomly throughout my backpack and cover the bottom fabric. Band aids are a necessity for me because I tend to lean to the clumsier side of human nature. I always carry at least two kinds of snacks, granola bars and trail mix are preferred but candy sometimes makes an appearance especially on my long days. Everyone needs a little pick me up every so often. Because I carry these snacks gum becomes a “must have” item. No one wants to walk around with stinky breath; we want to clean it up like orbit. My nook is my lifeline that I put in my backpack every day before I leave home. It is what saves me from boredom on a break, keeps me calm if I get upset, and it just so happens that reading is my FAVORITE past time and if I had to choose to read or to watch T.V. about 85% of the time I will choose to read. My glasses are also kept in my backpack out of necessity. I’m sort of blind when it comes to seeing things far away.   The last couple items in my backpack are pens, pencils and paper, because taking notes is smart idea as a college student, and you  never know when you’re going to have to write something down: for example a really cute guys number.

  1. I love the way you wrote this. Your writing has a type of personality; almost like I can hear you reading this out loud, or just talking to me about what's inside your backpack. But anyway, I also liked your Orbit reference that you just threw in there, and that last little thing about a cute guys number made me giggle a little. (haha)

  4. Your writing reflects your sense of humor. Having read a few other posts before reading yours, some on the serious side, I was expecting yours to be similar. But your explanation of why you carry bandaids and the Orbit gum reference... made me laugh out loud!
